Petaling Jaya, March 17- Three Malaysian short films, ‘RM10’ by Emir Ezwan, Tusilya Muthukumar’s ‘Bus Stop’ and ‘Brave’ by Abhilash Chandra that were featured at Short Shorts Film Festival & Asia (SSFF & ASIA) in Tokyo last year are among the shortlisted films screened at the 8th edition of the Short Shorts Film Festival & Asia held in Menara Star, Petaling Jaya today. Organised by 42nd Pictures, SSFFA this year celebrates the excellence in short film making; and foster the short film community with the screening of 14 short films across the world shortlisted last year for SSFF including Japan, Russia, France, Ireland, UK, Myanmar and Malaysia with their cinematic narrative-style films and great storytelling.
Geared up in the morning session with opening remarks on SSFFA by Bea Tanaka as well as the interesting short talk by SSFFA organiser and 42nd Pictures founder Yasu Tanaka, who has shared on the spectrum of visual storytelling in Japan and Malaysia, the afternoon session was concluded with the moderated Q & A session featuring award winning Malaysian filmmakers – Tusilya, Abhilash, Emir Ezwan, and Panasonic Digital Short Film Competition (PDSFC) winner Victor Chen Yee Fei who have interactively shared on the craft of filmmaking and their aspiration.
