KUCHING, 12 APRIL 2016 – The Prime Minister YAB Dato’ Sri Mohd Najib Tun Haji Abdul Razak launched CILL (Creative Industry Lifelong Learning Program) with dedicated theme #EKSPRESIF (Expressing Creativity for Progressive Generation) at National Film Development Corporation Malaysia (FINAS) booth during MINDA 2016 program organized by Ministry of Communication and Multimedia. CILL #EKSPRESIF is a government-initiated program through FINAS to encourage the attainment of formal recognition for the creative talents and encourage the creative content industry practitioners to further upgrade their knowledge and skills. CILL #EKSPRESIF will focus on technically inclined youth to pursue their study in any local recognized public, private, industrial and association accredited centres, community colleges and polytechnics.
The brand, CILL #EKSPRESIF signifies the roles of FINAS in addressing the talent needs of the industry through enabling youths with right skill sets. The creative content industry is projected to generate annual revenues of RM 7.2 billion and 50,000 job opportunities by 2020, and CILL #EKSPRESIF provides a strategic platform for youths from impoverished backgrounds to improve their future by obtaining profesional certification or academic credentials in creative content fields of study such as directing, animation, games development, visual and special effects. Series of outreach activities will be organized to engage more public who are interested in the program.
CILL #EKSPRESIF program offers three types of grants to practitioners, those who are without working experience in the industry and school leavers who are keen to pursue their study in the creative content field.
