INTRODUCTION

Malaysia has explored and formulated strategies to enhance the competitiveness of the creative industry as a key driver of the national economy. The creative industry has the potential to generate a high-income economy while upholding national culture.

The Creative Content Fund (“DKK”), previously known as the Digital Content Industry Fund (DIKD) and subsequently the Digital Content Fund (DKD), was introduced in April 2015 as a continuation of the National Creative Industry Policy (DIKN).

OBJECTIVE

The Creative Content Fund aims to:

  • Promote the creation of innovative and marketable creative content both within Malaysia and on the global stage.
  • Develop a skilled workforce to support the growth and sustainability of the creative content industry.
  • Foster the development of valuable intellectual property that can compete in the international marketplace.

GENERAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS  FOR DKK APPLICATIONS

The following are the general terms and conditions that all applicants must meet:

  1. Individual Applicants:
  • Must be a Malaysian citizen aged 18 years and above.
  • Must not be bankrupt or insolvent and not be involved in any bankruptcy proceedings or other legal actions.
  • Must not be currently receiving any assistance from funding FINAS or any other government agency.
  • Must not have any direct or indirect interest in any member, committee, or individual associated with FINAS.
  1. Company Applicants:
  • Must be a company registered in Malaysia.
  • Must be registered with FINAS with an active license (Production or Distribution).
  • Must not have any direct or indirect interest in any member, committee, or individual associated with FINAS.
  • Must not be currently receiving any funding assistance from FINAS or any other government agency.
  • More than Fifty Percent (50%) of the beneficial ownership must be held by Malaysian citizens.
  • Must have a minimum issued and paid-up share capital of RM50,000.
  • Must not be under a winding-up order and not be involved in any other legal actions.
  • Must not be subject to any claims by any third party.
  • The balance of the latest financial statement must be at least 5% of the total production cost.

In addition to the general terms and conditions above, specific terms and conditions will be set based on the scope and type of funding that will be opened.
